**Event Details:**
– **Date:** May 29

The New York Forward Grant. What is it and what does it mean to me?
The Village of Schuylerville, along with the Village of Hoosick Falls, has been awarded a grant of $4.5 million as part of the NY Forward program. This grant is a part of New York State’s initiative to accelerate and expand the revitalization of smaller and rural downtowns throughout the state. The aim is to enable all communities to benefit from state revitalization efforts, irrespective of their size, character, needs, and challenges.
The application submitted by Village of Schuylerville can be found in the link at the top of this page.
The requested projects are listed as follows but may differ from the projects that will be funded after review by NY State.
The NY Forward program will provide the village with a professional planning consultant and a team of state agency experts. These resources will help in developing a Strategic Investment Plan. There will be extensive community outreach and engagement throughout the process of determining which of these projects will meet state requirements for funding. If you are interested in actively participating in the community forums to help determine which projects should be selected for funding, these events will be posted on our village website as well as the Schuylerville Community page on Facebook. We will be forming, as per the requirements for this grant, a local planning committee. Applications to be considered for the steering committee for the NY Forward Grant can be emailed to dcarpenter@villageofschuylerville.org.
